Winnie creates free-form garment pieces and her final collection is based on the concept of ‘growing.’ The initial inspiration comes from aerial photography of tulip fields in The Netherlands. “I use the knitting machine as my drawing tool, and the different kind of yarn as the pigment,” she explains. “I see innovation as one of the most important features in my designs and the combination of different materials, textures and colour opens a newer and a wider domain for my design.” The fabrics that she produces are free from fixed shapes and patterns but with unlimited potential to stretch in any direction needed. Her works can be worn in many different ways. It is up to you.
